1. Preheat oven to 425F. Peel, core and slice 6 cups of apples into large mixing bowl.2. Sprinkle sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt over apples and toss until coated.3. Grease pie pan and line bottom with 1 ready-to-bake pie crust. Fill with apple mixture and top with the second pie crust. Seal crust edges and score top crust with knife to vent.4. Bake at 425F for 10 minutes. Then lower oven temp to 350F and bake for 45 minutes more.
COMMENTS: Best with fall's Stayman Winesap apples. But good with any baking apples.
